Digital revolution
Real-time cardiac diagnostics
The COALA is the only patch-free Remote Heart Monitor that provides real-time diagnostic-quality ECG analysis and heart sound recordings simultaneously to the patient and healthcare provider. FDA cleared, reimbursed and used by thousands of patients.
The COALA is also ideal for user-centered studies and for collecting large amounts of ECG data and heart sounds in geographically distributed groups.
The Coala Care portal provides web-based access to real-time patient data with abilities to interpret, annotate and download raw data for further analysis. It’s all Microsoft Azure based with secure storage in the US and Europe.
Digital revolution
The cardiology RPM platform
COALA is a unique medical innovation based on more than 10 years of R&D, with more than 30 patents and over 15 industry awards.
COALA and the Coala Care portal create an ideal Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) platform. Full suite of functionality including on-demand reports and timers. The COALA App can also be used to collect concurrent Blood Pressure and weight data.

Ideal for patients with palpitations
Addressing the needs of modern cardiology
The COALA was used in the groundbreaking RedHeart Study by the Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden) and included nearly 1,000 women and over 280,000 ECG recordings in everyday life. The study showed an increase in quality of life in women with palpitations, because of the instant results that helped reduce symptoms, anxiety and depression.
For stroke patients
Proven efficient and patient-friendly
In the late-breaking TEASE-trial the Coala was used to monitor cryptogenic stroke patients. The Coala was used twice daily, and when symptoms occurred, for 28 days. The monitoring detected previously undiagnosed AF in 9% of the patients, at a mean of 19.7 days after stroke. Patient compliance to the Coala monitoring protocol exceeded 90%.
The stroke patients reported very high satisfaction with the Coala per the second TEASE-publication. The Coala was reported easy to use and it increased the feel of security. The researchers concluded that Coala to be an excellent, patient-friendly device for monitoring stroke patients.
