Gartner Cool Vendor 2018

Coala Life was named “Cool Vendor 2018” by Gartner, a world leader in information technology research and market analysis. The appointment is made in the market of Health and Wellness Devices and Coala is appointed together with four American and British companies.

The appointment is made in connections to the report “Cool Vendors in Health and Wellness Devices, 2018” by David Glenn et al. Gartner's Cool Vendor 2018 Report evaluates interesting, new, innovative players, products and services in the health market. The report concludes that digital medical technology products provide valuable insights and data for self-care and for care. The complete report is available at

The Grand Award of Design 2018

Design is a decisive factor for competitiveness and profitability. Therefore, the Technology Companies ("Teknikföretagen") instituted the Great Design Award, to highlight business successes embedded in integrated and consistent design work.

The jury includes representatives from Linné University, the Technology Companies, the Swedish Industrial Design Foundation, Scania, Shift Design & Strategy, Volvo and Ericsson. Coala Life is the proud winner of the audience's vote for Coala Heart Monitor.

Startup World Cup 2018

Coala Life won The Startup World Cup in Stockholm and was therefore selected, in tough competition from over 80 companies, to represent Sweden in the finals in San Francisco in May 2018. First prize is $1 million and the prize is awarded to the company that has the opportunity to reach global impact, tackles world problems and has unique, fantastic teams.

The jury's motivation:

Technology is promising to change the way we manage the most fundamental part of our lives: our health. Within the category of “Health Tech”, the winning company has put their hearts into combining software and hardware creating a complete cardiac ecosystem. When adding a strong team and a strong ability to present and sell their vision, Coala Life is the obvious winner of the Silicon Vikings Startup World Cup Sweden regional competition of 2018.

Serendipity Challenge 2018 - Future Company

The Serendipity Challenge is an annual entrepreneurial competition for Swedish and Nordic entrepreneur-led companies in the start-up and growth phase regardless of industry. The finals days take place during the Almedalen week, where 50 of Sweden and the Nordic region's most innovative future companies are shown.

The competition aims to highlight entrepreneurship and give corporate builders the opportunity to showcase themselves on the national arena. The competition will also elevate Sweden as a breeding ground for innovative future companies that change, improve and develop their respective industries at a global level, and connect entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors, politicians and business partners.

Makerstown 2018 Award

At the 2018 Makerstown event in Brussels, more than 40 of Europe's most innovative growth companies were invited to present innovations and technology successes to the stakeholders ranging from thousands of young people to important EU delegates. On site were a variety of exhibitors such as Google, Lego and the robots of the future.

SALSS 2017 Rising Star Award

At the Swedish-American Life Science Summit 2017 (SALSS) in Stockholm, Coala Life was named the winner of The Rising Star Award 2017. The purpose of the award is to elevate a Swedish company that has the capacity to revolutionize and influence a global market.

SALSS is led by Barbro Ehnbom and annually gathers some of the Life Science industry's most important researchers, business leaders, entrepreneurs and investors. The goal is to create collaborations and strategic relationships between academia, industry and financiers and thus develop the Life Science industry. This year's theme was Cancer Moonshot, HealthTech Transformation and Impact Investing.

The award includes mentoring by the jury and international contacts. The Rising Star Award was presented by juror Susanne Najafi at Nasdaq in Stockholm. The jury's motivation for the award was:

’’We are proud to award Coala Life the SALSS 2017 Rising Star Award, for being a novel company with commercial potential, great impact and early approval.

Coala is well advanced with their product and business model. It is highly scalable and the product is based on consumer insights. The main product is in the analysis of the data, not in the physical product that could be replaced by other market leaders. It also makes a significant impact as it helps detect one of the biggest causes of death today.

The company is pursuing the hot space of mobile patient centered digital device technologies, applied for better monitoring of heart functions. This can improve future medical practice by integrating patient information continuously rather than episodically. They have already advanced a product to the local Swedish market and is now expanding into new customer segments.’’

Serendipity Challenge 2017 - Nordea Partner Award

Within the framework of the finals of the Serendipity Challenge 2017 in Almedalen, Coala Life was crowned winner of the Nordea partner prize.

The motivation was: We have seen an incredible number of exciting product companies and strong service models! Our winner already managed to show in their short elevator pitch that they combine these two into a globally scalable product. When that product also relieves worry, releases important care time and saves lives, it goes without saying that our heart beats strongest for our winner of Nordea's partner prize, Coala!

- Winning this prize is absolutely fantastic for us! It creates opportunities to find new partners and future customers, says Philip Siberg, Coala Life's co-founder and CEO about the award, which consists of a trip to Silicon Valley where they will meet investors, among other things.

eHealth Award 2017

Coala Life is the proud winner of the eHealth Award 2017 with the security service Coala Heart Monitor. The award was presented by Minister of Public Health Gabriel Wikström's State Secretary Agneta Karlsson and presented at the Vitalis eHealth Fair in Gothenburg.

The jury's motivation is;

They have an innovative product, the end user has participated in the development and there is a great market potential, both nationally and internationally. The product enables patient-centered care, which contributes to preventive treatment rather than the development of illness and requires urgent and extensive treatment. Coala Life will contribute to increased patient engagement, improved quality of life and care, and reduced mortality

The award goes to a Swedish company with an innovative eHealth solution or product that has proven benefits for patient, healthcare provider and / or healthcare organization and is a collaboration between Vitalis, Nordic Connected Health Star Track, Cerner and Sahlgrenska Science Park.

Sweden Demo Day 2017 - Best Pitch

Sweden Demo Day is the largest event of its kind in Sweden where entrepreneurs and investors meet. Coala Life was selected as one of 100 finalists and got to pitch to a prominent jury and large audience - and first prize as "Best Pitch 2017" went to Coala Life!

This year's event attracted over 1600 people, including 600 entrepreneurs. Among the organizers, sponsors and players are noted Tillväxtverket, the Internet Foundation in Sweden, Vinnova, Business Sweden, EQT Ventures and the Industrifonden.

33-Listan 2017

For the tenth year in a row, the magazines Ny Teknik (New Technology) and Affärsvärlden (The Business World) have produced the prestigious 33 list which names the technology startups of today that have the potential to become one of tomorrow's giants of stock markets. Coala Life made it on the list in competition with over 200 nominated companies.

Swedish Mobile Awards

Coala Life was a finalist in the Mobile Awards 2017 in the category Connected Health for our e-health service Coala Heart Monitor.

The Mobile Gala, The Swedish Mobile Awards, is the mobile industry's answer to the Oscars gala. It praises, among other things, the most successful innovations, start-up companies, products and services. The Mobile Gala is part of Connected Business Days and is organized by the Mobile Institute, which purpose is to create collaborations across industry boundaries.

Digital Hospital Award 2018 - Walker Project

Coala life was named winner of The Digital Hospital Award 2018, by the top Swiss and Austrian hospitals that were invited to Sweden for a symposium on "Digital hospital transformation".

The award was presented by The Walker Project whose purpose is to contribute to the change in health care.
